Celebrating Culinary Expertise: Savor St. Marys Delights Food Lovers

On Saturday, November 16, 2024, St. Marys showcased its culinary excellence with the highly anticipated debut of Savor St. Marys, a progressive dinner event that highlighted the exceptional talents of local restaurants. This thoughtfully curated evening treated guests to a memorable journey through flavors, creativity, and hospitality, solidifying St. Marys as a destination for food enthusiasts.

A Warm Welcome with Local Flavor

The evening began under the open sky at Howard Gilman Waterfront Park, where attendees were greeted by the lively sounds of Loop Deville, a band making their debut in St. Marys. The park’s serene setting paired perfectly with the promise of a night dedicated to culinary craftsmanship.

The first stop brought guests to Locals Dockside, where the back deck offered a great spot to mingle and a taste of the restaurant's casual vibe. Guests were served a specialty drink alongside two delicious appetizers, showcasing Locals Dockside’s take on some classics.

Artful Simplicity at Cafe at Cottle & Gunn

From there, attendees hopped on golf carts and headed to the Cafe at Cottle & Gunn, a new addition to the St. Marys dining scene. Here, simplicity met sophistication as guests were treated to a perfectly balanced salad, praised by one diner as "the best I’ve ever had." This course reflected the cafe’s dedication to elevating classic dishes through precise execution and whimsical presentation on classic china.

Elevated Casual Dining at The Firefly

The journey continued at The Firefly Taco Cantina. Guests headed upstairs to enjoy an assortment of tacos, perfectly crispy bang bang shrimp, and a trio of specialty winter cocktails crafted to complement the menu. The Firefly’s relaxed yet refined atmosphere (They even remembered to turn on the game!) paired with live music filtering through the open windows, made it clear why this venue is a local favorite.

A Sweet Showcase by Chef Stephanie Chain

The final course took guests to a dessert destination led by the expertise of Chef Stephanie Chain. Known for her delicious and beautiful creations, Chef Chain delighted attendees with individual cheesecakes, each topped with a delicately balanced gastrique. Paired with a choice of two sweet wines, this final stop was a testament to the artistry and precision that define her work.

A Culinary Success

The evening concluded back at the waterfront, where Loop Deville entertained while guests reflected on the night’s culinary highlights. Savor St. Marys was more than an event—it was a celebration of the skill and creativity of local chefs and restaurateurs.
